The News, Eats & Events Shaping Western New York |
A vibrant new attraction is headed to Buffalo this summer, but it’s not your typical sports venue.
The Buffalo Museum of Science will debut the Science Stadium exhibit in July, blending athletic excitement with scientific discovery.
This $3 million interactive experience—marking the museum’s first major permanent addition since 2018—will spotlight how science powers athletic performance and innovation.
With 17 hands-on stations, guests can explore topics from sports medicine to game-changing technology, all while engaging with memorabilia from beloved teams like the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits.
Boosted by $750,000 in state funding and support from the New York Power Authority, the exhibit aims to inspire curiosity in visitors of all ages.
Installation begins in May, promising a summer of discovery for local families and sports fans alike. Read More... |
Buffalo Deep Dish is redefining pizza mania in Buffalo, as locals happily brave wait times of up to two hours for a taste of its celebrated deep dish creations.
Located inside the historic Silos at Elk Street, this pizzeria owes its fast-growing fame to owner Matt Wyzykowski, who left carpentry to turn his pandemic-born passion for pizza into a beloved neighborhood fixture.
Wyzykowski’s menu spans from Detroit-style to Chicago-style and crisp tavern-style pies, including signatures like the Detroit-inspired 'Danny Zuko' with rich vodka sauce and sausage, as well as classic cheese-and-pepperoni on thin, cracker-like crust.
Despite the relentless crowds, Matt refuses to sacrifice quality for speed, crafting each pie in his single oven and encouraging guests to come early or check social media before visiting, as popular favorites sell out quickly.
Buffalo Deep Dish serves from Thursday to Saturday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., or until everything's gone. Read More... |
The world's largest steam locomotive, Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, will make its much-anticipated debut in Buffalo.
This visit is part of a nationwide tour marking America’s 250th birthday.
Joining the historic engine are the striking America250 engine, No. 1776, sporting bold patriotic colors, and No. 1616, which pays tribute to President Abraham Lincoln and his foundational connection to Union Pacific.
Though the official Buffalo schedule remains pending, the eastern tour launches May 25 and will pass through cities such as Scranton, Altoona, and Chicago.
Union Pacific CEO Jim Vena highlights the railroad’s lasting role in shaping America, reflecting local pride in welcoming this rolling piece of history.
Buffalo residents can look forward to an inspiring celebration, as these famed locomotives steam into town for a truly memorable event. Read More... |
